I assure you that I am an avid reader, but I tend to forget to share with all of you, so here goes with the latest….
I found this in the airport shop and I thought that a funny and light read for the 13 hours flight I was about to embark. Though I didn’t read in on the plane, when the cabin lights went out, I did too 🙂 So I persuaded my recently started book club that this should be our next read, and fortunately they all agreed. I’m looking forward to hear their opinion on the book.
As the title gives away it is about finding the best way to bury your husband… that you accidently killed with a skillet. In many ways it’s a great book that not only subtle describes the violence found behind closed doors but family dynamics and the bond that can be created between women when you dare to reach out and accept. When you have finished the book and the book kind of sinks in after the delight of the perfectly described dark humor, you can’t help to feel a sting to your heart that the book is written based on the authors knowledge of domestic violence. She’s worked as a specialist human rights non-fiction editor. And that the domestic violence escalated during the Covid Lockdown. I can’t even begin to imagine what it is like to be locked in your home with your abuser.
This is a must read book, even though it is a light an easy read, make sure not to speed through, but to embrace, feel, and read the words. You will find it way darker due to the inspiration for the book.
